Hey, I'm Ilene Meyer. I’m a working artist, living in Milwaukee.
I am 19 years old, Wisconsin born and raised. I was adopted at the age of 15 to a wonderful foster mother. Since then, I finished High School and went onto College, but right now, I am taking a break from college and pursuing my passions. My passions include photography, digital design, painting, and basically everything that involves art. On this page you will find photos that I took of people, nature and objects, my designs, my paintings and photos of myself.
Throughout my whole life, I began to realize that people may come and go but art is always there. Whether it be music, photography, drawing, painting, or designing, it was always there. My love for art grew when I was put in a foster home. Art helped me through all the bad times in my life and I am looking forward to continue growing as an artist and expanding my skills.
In high school I was in National Art Honor Society and took art classes throughout my high school career. Unfortunately, when I started college I decided to take a break from art and focus on the "more important stuff" for my major, like Math, Computer Programming, and English classes. After a year I decided I needed more art in my life, so I took an intro to design class that focused on Photoshop and Illustrator. Even though I already knew how to use Photoshop from my college level classes during high school, I had to take this one because the credits didn't transfer.
I am still working regular jobs but time was always a struggle for me. I had to work to pay off school as well as all my other bills, during school. My break from school will hopefully help me save up money so I can return refreshed and ready with the appropriate time for my studies. The only problem I was struggling with was time and money; I never really had enough time to focus on my studies because I was working all the time to pay for school, and everything else. Then I realized that I needed a break from College to save money for the future so that I will not have to work so much during school and actually live the life that I want to live, and hopefully sell some of my art here! So, all in all,I hope you enjoy my page and I look forward to hear your opinions.
